This study is led by the Azrieli Adults Neurodevelopmental Centre at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
It is examining the Brain Health-IDD virtual education program through measures of participation, satisfaction, knowledge, self-efficacy, health behaviours, physical health, mental wellbeing and resilience. The program offers three separate 90-minute online courses for family caregivers (6-week course), health and social service providers (6-week course), and adults with IDD (7-week course).
The NTG Canadian Consortium has been happy to be able to contribute to several of the online courses and to disseminate the registration flyers to all NTG Canada Affiliated Provincial Trainers. It has been a great opportunity to share our work, connect with family caregivers and agencies and further our collaboration efforts.
he online courses have been co-designed and co-delivered by people with lived experience, mental health experts, and researchers. The courses focus on ways to promote brain health including strategies to promote healthy aging and reduce dementia risks, resources and tools for managing physical and mental health, dementia screening tools, connecting with others across Canada and more! Each course is run four times and participants are asked to complete surveys at three time points: pre-, post-, and follow-up.
